The following are similar to the waiver(s) you will be required to read, and by signing, agree to, before participating in a CDMC activity:

Liability and Indemnity Waiver

I, the undersigned activity participant, acknowledge that I am in good health and that I am participating in the activity named above on my own volition.

I further acknowledge that the following factors can cause or contribute to the inherent risks and hazards of this activity:

  • poor or inadequate physical fitness
  • inappropriate or inadequate clothing or equipment
  • failure to exercise good judgment or to pay due care and attention

I agree to assume all such risks and hazards, and to bear all costs of rescue and medical treatment rendered to me or for my benefit, arising from the above named activity.

I further agree to stay with the group and to follow the leaders instructions while participating in the above named activity.

I hereby absolve and hold blameless the Comox District Mountaineering Club, its executive directors and the volunteer leaders, from all liability and indemnity for any injury or death incurred by me, or any damage or loss of my equipment resulting from the above named activity.

Parent/Guardian Liability and Indemnity Waiver for Children Participating in Club Activities

I declare that I am the parent or guardian (either legally appointed or authorized by the parent/s) of the child/children named below who is/are aged 7 to 15 years, and that I am a member in good standing of the Comox District Mountaineering Club.

I understand that the said child/children is/are my sole responsibility while participating in the activity named above, and that the said child/children is/are NOT eligible for the third party liability insurance which covers the adult members (over 16 years of age) of the Comox District Mountaineering Club.

I hereby absolve and hold blameless the Comox District Mountaineering Club and its members from all liability and indemnity for any injury or death incurred by the child/children named below, or any loss of or damage to property resulting from the child/children's participation in the activity named above.

By the signing of this waiver I acknowledge that I have read, understood and agreed to its terms.
