Constitution
- The name of the society is COMOX DISTRICT MOUNTAINEERING CLUB.
- The purposes of the society are:
- to organize a programme of guided hikes and expeditions;
- to promote the conservation and appropriate use of Parks and wilderness areas;
- to promote outdoor education and sound leadership skills;
- to undertake projects such as development, improvement and maintenance of trails and other
amenities, when and where feasible, in partnership with BC Parks and private landholders.
The CDMC is registered under the Society Act of BC.

Directors
Directors' Duties
President

- chair general meetings and director meetings
- represent the CDMC to the public and to other organizations
- ensure directors are perfoming their duties
Vice President

- fill in for the President as needed
- assist other directors as needed
Secretary

- record minutes of general meetings and directors meetings
- read minutes to the AGM
- post minutes to the Forum
- send correspondence on behalf of the club: thank-you notes, etc.
- keep a copy of club correspondence
Treasurer
Pam Munroe,
- keep financial records as required by the Society Act
- prepare financial statements for approval at the AGM
- keep a record of membership and dues paid
- keep the CDMC current with the FMCBC
- keep the CDMC current as required by the Society Act
Equipment Director

- keep an inventory of tools and equipment
- keep tools and equipment in good repair
Membership Director

- promote new members via newspapers, websites, etc.
- promote youth members via schools, recreation centers, etc.
- poll lapsed members as to why they left
- assist Treasurer with membership applications
Social Director

- organize the October Potluck and the AGM: arrange for facilities, refreshments, door prizes, presentations, etc.
- organize informal events for members to meet new members, talk to directors, and enjoy an evening together
- arrange for presentation of club awards
- arrange for extraordinary events such as the 'Snow to Surf relay'
Trips Director

- act as a liason for leader or participant complaints or suggestions
- organize at least one leaders meeting each year
- promote leader and participant guidelines, keep 'Trip guidelines' page up to date
- interview potential new leaders
- keep active leaders list up to date
- apply for access agreements (Timber West)
Website Director

- solicit suggestions for the website from the membership
- review website for clarity and ease of use
- add information to our FaceBook page as needed
- add to our historical pages of past members
