Fall was in the air as we had cool but pleasant hiking conditions to Mt. Drabble. Nine enthusiastic hikers left the Forbidden Plateau parking lot at 8:40am. We stopped briefly for a group photo at the old ski lift building that Otto helped construct as an apprentice in 1964. Yes its still standing...barely. Along the way we met three girls who had camped near the summit over night and had bumped into Linda H who was picking blueberries. We later met Linda at the summit for lunch at about 1:00. The summit area has many ponds and sheltered areas that would make for a great overnight trip. Indian Head is close by and the area around Drabble lakes has many rock outcroppings and would also be an interesting area to explore...future trip contemplated. We left the summit at 1:30 and reached the parking lot just after 5:00. The GPX file for this trip is now available for download at the bottom of the page.
