On a fine Sunday morning, 8 of us set out from the old Forbidden Plateau ski lodge and headed down the bike trail to the beginning of the Boston Ridge Trail. We enjoyed the company of Philip, a new member and hope he joins our ranks. The first "hill" we have to go up is a real grunt as it is steep and seems never ending. We enjoyed a sunny break at the first logged out area and then continued on getting the best views of the day as the clouds were closing in as the day progressed. It had rained during the night and the bushes were very wet. The consent from the ranks was that I was not knocking off enough water from the bushes! Jeff was doing his best to clear the trail with his one set of clippers but he happened to be the sweep so it was not doing the rest of us much good. We did manage to get one good view of the glacier but not the rest of the mountains one can usually see on this trip. There is a lot of elevation gain (3434') on this trip as we loose substantial elevation twice before getting to the top of Mt. Becher. We did a few gear changes as the rain came and went a few times. However, it decided to settle in for good about an hour from the cars. It stopped just as we got to the cars which was nice for changing into dry footwear. Thanks to all who participated. You were a good group with whom to spend a Sunday.
