Cumberland Lookout; Wed Jun 09, 2010; hiking; leader: William Wright

Our trio set out from "Jumbo's Cabin" at 9:30 am heading up towards the Cumberland Lookout... the club's fairly weathered members prevented a larger turnout. We passed many Spring blooms including Lilies, Phlox and Sea Blush... We had varied views from the lookout as mist along with a light drizzle moved in and out. We stopped short of our intended destination, Comox Lake, with discretion being the better part of valour as to the log crossing of China Creek which, seemingly, would be quite slippery. Instead, we took our lunches to the new Quality Foods and settled into urban comfort with acquired hot drinks... A nice ending to our damp day further made enjoyable by a surprise encounter with Tim P.
