Alone Mtn; Sun May 30, 2010; hiking; leader: Otto Winnig

Weather in the morning was ideal for climbing, cloudy and cool. We left the Alone Mt. parking lot at 9:00 and reached the summit at 12 for lunch. On the way Otto warned of ticks in the area and that we should be mindful. A little later William gave us a lesson on how to remove a tick in the unlikely event of this happening. Not 15 minutes later guess who got a tick? William carefully removed the tick from Otto's neck with some donated tweezers. At lunch Otto discovered another tick on his clothing!
Scenery was beautiful with many flowering dogwoods and spring flowers. We spotted a Blue Grouse on the way up.
After lunch a drizzle started as we headed back. About 3/4 of the way down Rudy slipped and injured his leg and had to be escorted back. Thanks to all those who diligently helped Rudy back safely to the vehicles.
