The weather was great for this Mother's Day hike up from the Puntledge River bike trails to the Boston Ridge trailhead starting at 175m and reaching a highpoint of 624m. We had several short breaks at view points which dotted our route. At our break at the high point, we took a short side trip to Boston Creek near the beginning of the Boston Ridge Trailhead. Lunch was at a bluff lower down overlooking Comox Lake and beyond. A gentle breeze kept the temperature very enjoyable. There were lots of flowers and dogwood trees in bloom. On the way down we entered some clear cuts but were able to get back on trails quickly as we headed back to our cars. The trail along Supply Creek was perhaps the most beautiful part of the trip. Our 20k hike took us six and a half hours. Thanks you Tim for providing us with your two way radios. They worked very well in communicating; being able to tell the last few about approaching bikers and for my sweep,Otto, to tell me when we needed to wait. After the hike, several of us enjoyed a Dairy Queen treat in town, before heading home. Thank you, to all of my participants, for making this an enjoyable lead for me.
