Melda Buchanan Memorial Hike; Wed Apr 14, 2010; hiking; leader: Terry Fright

Cool and cloudy on the ferry ride over to Denman Island but brightened up as the day wore on and nice and sunny by lunch time. We had an enthusiastic crew that declared war on the broom resulting in loud cheers as more than one person fell flat on their back as stubborn roots suddenly gave way. The spring flowers were wonderful including the pink sea blush, blue larkspur and yellow star like flowers. The chocolate lilies were just coming out. Tree Island is a truly magical place.
