Because of the lousy weather forecast only 4 people turned out. This group didn't need a leader as they were very familiar with the area and did what they wanted to do, anyway. The leader was always the last in line... in fact, the group was not into "smelling the roses" since, I think, they smell the roses after the photos are in the computer and on the report. However, we had a great time and the weather was fantastic until after noon. The only time the group listened to the leader was when I suggested that we retrace our steps because walking around Mt. Elma would put us in the trees and we would be soaked from melting snow, sliding off branches above us. By the time we got to the parking lot it was a snowin' and a blowin' with a SE wind in our faces. A cup of tea in the fancy lodge was a good way to end the hike. Please overlook my spelling mistakes... I spell with a Hungarian accent. Respectfully submitted by Pal Horvath, trip leader. Someboby did a slight editing and I dont like it. P.H.
