Newcastle Is. Nanaimo Harbour; Wed Sep 14, 2011; hiking; leader: Chris Carter      return to Reports

After reserving the Newcastle ferry for 12-15 people (my best guess based on previous years) it was a disappointment when only three of us turned up ! Where are all the Wednesday hikers ?
Anyway we had a great day, beautiful overcast light for comfortable walking and great photography. The maples are beginning to turn to Fall Colors. I realised today how many great old growth trees are on the Island.
